Plan Your Van Hire

When thinking about van hire then you should always ensure that you plan correctly. Intack Self Drive has a number of vans for hire and these vary in size, shape, make and models. What do you need to think about then in regards to van hire?

First of all you should identify what it is that you require the van for. If it is just for moving a few small boxes then a smaller van would be suitable whereas if it is for moving a number of say larger boxes then it may be that you need a larger van. Failing to identify clearly what the van is required for could mean that you actually end up hiring a van that is too big and proves costly or worse still is too small and you cannot do what you wanted or means you have to take multiple trips.

As mentioned there are many variations of vans from a small van to a transit van or a tipper van to a dropside flat van. If you are not sure what van it is you require then we invite you to either come down to Intack Self Drive and discuss your requirements with our expert team and if necessary have a measure up.

If it is a one off hire and you haven’t really driven a van before then it is important that you remember it isn’t like a car at all!

Before driving off take some time to get to grips with the larger dimensions of the van, remember when loading and unloading the van you need to leave adequate space at the back unless of course it has a side loading door which you are going to use.

Before we can let any vehicle be hired and driven off our forecourt we need:

  • Valid Driving License (both parts if it is the photo card licence)
  • Recent utility bill (no more than 3 months old)
  • Signature ID (bank/credit card)
  • Credit card to take your deposit

When you return the van after your hire you need to ensure that the fuel is full and it is returned to our premises at or before the time that it is due back.
